If using a vacuum bag, ensure the seal is airtight, but avoid over-compressing the material for extended periods, as this risks permanently altering the cellular structure.
Selecting the Storage Location
After the topper is cleaned, dried, and securely rolled, choose an appropriate environment for long-term preservation. The storage location should be cool, dry, and maintain a consistent temperature, ideally between 55 and 80 degrees Fahrenheit. Extreme heat can cause the foam to soften or deform, while freezing temperatures can stiffen the material, making it brittle and susceptible to cracking upon handling.
Avoid storing the topper in high-humidity areas, such as unfinished basements, attics, or garages without climate control. High moisture levels encourage the proliferation of mold and mildew.
